In brief, the African Diaspora includes people of African ancestry wherever in the world they may live. The diaspora was the movement of Africans throughout the world, particularly to North and South America during the Atlantic slave trade of the 18th and 19th centuries. Later, Africans migrated to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. There are at least 140 million people of Sub-Saharan ancestry in the Western Hemisphere alone. Worldwide, they compose about 14% of the earth’s population. Find out more about people of African ancestry by visiting the social networking site http://www.africameet.net.
